Great North Run for the Meningitis Trust in memory of Eve Hoole nee Bailey

Story

Just before Christmas a good friend , Eve, sadly passed away after contracting Meningitis aged just 28. She leaves behind a loving husband Kieran and a daughter Phoebe 4 and Leo 1. Eve was tragically taken after this sudden illness and her loss is devastating for her family and friends. She was a loving, caring person with the most magnificent sense of humour. Please support me in this run where all funds raised will go to the Meningitis Trust to work towards research and prevention of this awful disease so that other families and friends do not have to go through the loss of such a loved one.

Great North Run

Hello all, thank you for your kind donations via this page and the Virgin Money page. I completed the run in 1hr and 52 mins. As I was running it was too hot, it was as though Eve had made the sun shine...I muttered to myself 'come on Eve, sort the weather out' next minute it started raining, really bizarre! Lovely cool rain that got me through the last 4 miles. I am sure it was Eve sorting the weather out on demand!! I really enjoyed it and if I can get in the Marathon then I'll do it for the Meningitis Trust for Eve again.

Approaching the Big Day

13th September 2011
Went out on Sunday and did a 12 mile run so all being well should managed 13...really enjoyed it actually, took a different route around Scotton and Scriven which was lovely. Nice breezy day...looking forward to the day now. Drumming up the sponsorship at work don't think I'll make a fortune but I'll certainly pester everyone I know.

Training and Fundraising

19th April 2011
Have been out plenty of times running to build back up to the miles needed...got a while to go yet so will ramp up the fundraising over the next few months. I've asked work if they will sponsor me and invite donations from staff via our company intranet and magazine.
