This site is dedicated to the memory of Eve Bailey.

My daughter Eve was a beautiful happy person who was loved by all who knew her. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother of two beautiful children aged 4 and 1. Eve was sadly taken from us on 16/12/10 with pneumococcol Meningitis at the age of 28years, she leaves behind a space no one can fill. Eve started with earache and headache on the 9th Dec she visited the Gp who diagnosed pressure in her inner ear and said he could see no infection, she cryed with pain in her head that day but would not let me take her to casualty because she had just seen a doctor. Later that day she said the pain had subsided but did not want to drive home as she felt dizzy, i drove her home and when i left later that evening she said she just had a dull headache. The next day she worked all day in her hairdressing salon, her work partner said she was not her usual self but she put on a terrific act for her clients and no one would have known that she felt ill. Eve went home at 6ish and told kieran she needed to have a bath and a couple of hours sleep to get rid of her headache and stiff neck which she said she had got by holding her head stiff all day to stop the dizziness. Eve went unconcious in her sleep, we got her to hospital but she never regained conciousness and lost her battle 6 days later. This is a horrible disease and gives very little chance of survival when it attacks like this. The trust has been brilliant and has offered lots of support if needed, we need to raise more money so that it may in time be able to save others who are so unlucky to be struck down like Eve was. We all miss her terribly and wish there could have been something that would have helped her Life will never be the same again without my wonderful daughter, she has left behind 2 little pieces of herself in her beautiful children.
